Fabulous figural covered jar is the epitome of Art Deco period decor. Designed by artist Jean Born (Robj) this ceramic glazed porcelain box is hand painted in the shape of a woman holding a flower. This particular design has been referenced to have been used as a women's tobacco jar, a vanity box to hold cotton balls, a bonbonniere (bon bon jar) and as a potpourri jar. Whatever the choice you couldn't ask for a more fashionable statement to hold your treasures.
Gorgeous design and execution this jar is just stunning with the red, green and black contrasts.... a real beauty!

Circa 1920s

Measures approx 13" tall

Condition:
Excellent Condition, no damage to note, no chips, no cracks, no repairs, decoration shows absolute minimal wear if any.

Designed by Robj Paris
"Robj was not a manufacturer – his porcelain pieces were commissioned and produced by various suppliers among them Manufacture de Sèvres, Villeroy et Boch in Luxemburg, several factories in Limoges and a decoration workshop with a muffle furnace in Boulogne-sur-Seine" as per information obtained by Two Roses.

Marked on the bottom with blue underglaze crosswords, possibly Meissen as the mark is nearly exact to that of Meissen 1920s mark and could have been used as blank for the Robj artists, or the mark could be another unknown Boulogne furnace.
